Marketplace Rules
Status: marketplace payments are not switched on yet. You can browse and list coins; buying will open once payments, payouts and these protections are fully tested.
The short version
- Describe coins honestly. Your own photos, accurate date, mint and condition, and disclose cleaning, damage or problems.
- Buyers are protected: payment is held until you confirm delivery or 3 days pass without a dispute. Not as described? You get a refund after returning the coin.
- Seller fee: 5% of the sale price, taken when funds are released. No listing fees.
- No counterfeits, unmarked replicas, altered coins sold as genuine, or stolen property. Coins listed at $500 or more need a verified PCGS/NGC certificate.
- Disputes: open one within the 3-day inspection window; we review photos and messages from both sides and decide.

1. Who can trade
You need a confirmed account and must be 18 or older. Sellers complete Stripe payout onboarding (identity checks are done by Stripe) before they can be paid.
2. Listings
- Use your own photos of the actual coin, front and back. Stock photos aren't allowed.
- State the date, mint mark, series, and an honest condition. If you quote an AI grade, it's labelled as an estimate.
- Disclose cleaning, damage, repairs, environmental damage, holes, bends, and anything else a buyer would want to know.
- Certified coins: give the grading service and certificate number. A moderator verifies it before the "certified" badge appears. Listings asking $500 or more must have a verified certificate before they can be sold.
- New listings may be reviewed by a moderator before they go live, and can be hidden or removed if they break these rules.
3. Misleading descriptions
A coin is "not as described" if it is a different coin, is counterfeit or altered, has a material problem that wasn't disclosed, or doesn't match the listing photos. Grade opinions within one grade step, or tone and color differences from lighting, are not "not as described". Repeated or deliberate misdescription leads to removal of listings and loss of selling privileges.
4. Prohibited items
Counterfeit coins; replicas not permanently marked "COPY" as the Hobby Protection Act requires; coins with altered dates or mint marks sold as genuine; stolen property; anything illegal to sell or ship; and melted or mutilated U.S. cents sold for their metal (melting cents is restricted under 31 CFR Part 82).
5. Fees
Listing is free. When a sale completes we keep a 5% platform fee from the sale price and send the rest to the seller's Stripe account. Stripe's own payout terms apply to the seller. Buyers pay the listed price; any shipping or tax is shown before payment.
6. Payment, shipping and inspection (buyer protection)
- When a buyer pays, the money is held by us, not sent to the seller yet, and the listing shows as "in checkout" or reserved.
- The seller ships promptly with tracking and adds the tracking number.
- After delivery the buyer has 3 days to inspect. The buyer can confirm receipt (funds are released right away) or open a dispute.
- If nothing happens within the 3 days, funds are released to the seller automatically.
7. Disputes
- Open a dispute from your order within the inspection window, with photos and a short explanation.
- We'll ask both sides for information and usually decide within 7 days. While a dispute is open, funds stay held.
- If the coin is not as described or never arrived, the buyer returns it (if received) with tracking and gets a full refund; the seller covers return shipping when they were at fault.
- If the coin is as described, funds are released to the seller.
- Our decision on the release or refund of held funds is final for the marketplace, but doesn't limit any legal rights either side has.
8. Seller protections
Sellers are protected from buyers who claim "not as described" without evidence, swap coins, or don't return a coin: refunds for "not as described" require the original coin back with tracking, and we compare it with the listing photos. Abusive buyers lose buying privileges.
9. Off-site deals
Arranging payment outside the marketplace for a coin found here isn't allowed and isn't protected.
10. Reports and enforcement
Anyone signed in can report a listing. Moderators may hide or remove listings, cancel orders with a full refund, and suspend accounts that break these rules.
